Inspired by a unique car designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in the early sixties (Ferrari 250 GT SWB shark nose 1962). The idea was to synthesize the essence of the vehicle, it’s design, historical context and purpose into letter shapes. We pushed beyond the letters silhouettes to program a special kind of behavior for the font family. It shows through opentype features that modifies selected letter combinations or add design elements/letter sets to tap he dynamic dimension of the subject, to make it move as fast as possible. Beside the vehicle inspiration, sharknose’s lines are also a tribute to the sixties Italian/south of France typefaces like Eurostyle and Antique Olive.
